International School of Moshi: DISTANCE LEARNING UPDATE – MOSHI CAMPUS (19 JAN)
As you will have seen from Anna’s email we will be moving to an online situation for the rest of January. If you joined us earlier for the Zoom, thank you but we realize that due to the short notice many of you were unable to do so.
The discussion looked at the situation on campus and how we will be changing temporarily the way we operate classes and other aspects of campus life. Essentially, our residential students will be operating in house based bubbles for this time to isolate in groups. These bubbles will be focused on the house and immediate area but with scheduled time in the outside areas of campus for exercise and relaxation. We ask that day students follow the same procedures and isolate within their housing area.
Additionally, access to campus will be restricted and extracurricular activities suspended. All of our teachers will be working from home and only essential non-teaching personnel will be on campus. This circuit-breaker is designed to allow us time to understand the scope of the situation and resume full in-class teaching quickly.
Please use this link to access the Distance Learning Program document that was shared last year. This document contains the daily schedule of classes for secondary which consists of four 90-minute blocks a day. Teachers will contact students and parents regarding the times of individual zoom sessions within each block.
In Diploma this does mean we will be postponing the mock exams for a few weeks. As we get closer to February, we will update you on the plan for these exams.
If you have questions about individual classes, please contact the class teacher. If you have larger questions about the educational program, please contact the Coordinator.
I will continue to update you regularly.
