PRIME MINISTER Kassim Majaliwa has inspected the construction of the 3.2 km JPM bridge built on Lake Victoria at a cost of 699 billion shillings.

The bridge, which is being built with the aim of connecting the Usagara-Sengerema highway, when completed will be the first of its kind in the East African region.

Also, the Prime Minister has inspected the construction of the MV Mwanza ship Hapa Kazi tuu costing shs. 89.764 billion which has so far reached 70 percent of the total.

The Prime Minister has reviewed the strategic projects today (Friday, December 18, 2020) during his working visit to Mwanza region. The whole project is being built using local funds.

After inspecting the projects, the Prime Minister said he was satisfied with the speed of its construction and that the construction is a series of construction of transport infrastructure in the country.

“The construction of these projects will facilitate economic activities for the people because you cannot get people’s development without building things. Citizens, continue to trust your Government. ”

The Prime Minister said the progress made in the construction of the projects is a matter of pride because when completed it will enable citizens to travel and transport goods easily.

Regarding the construction of the Kigongo-Busisi bridge, the Prime Minister stated the project has already begun to benefit as more than 370 Tanzanians have been employed in the project.

The Prime Minister illustrated the bridge has already been named after President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli to commemorate the great work he is doing to improve development in the country.

Construction of the JPM bridge under construction by M / S China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) began in February 2020 and is expected to be completed in February 2024.

The construction of the MV Mwanza ship Hapa Kazi tuu is being carried out by GAS Entec and KANGNAM Corporation both in South Korea in partnership with SUMA JKT.

The MV Mwanza Hapa Kazi tuu is expected to be completed in December 2021 will be able to carry 1,200 passengers, 400 tons of cargo, three large and 20 small vehicles.

Talking about the construction of the projects, Mwanza Regional MPs congratulated President Dr. Magufuli as the projects are going to improve the development of their region.

Misungwi MP, Alexanda Mnyeti said the construction of the JPM bridge project is amazing and no one thought it would be implemented. “This project is a miracle. We are very grateful to the President.”
