

NMB Bank has stated that it is committed to ensuring that it cooperates with the government in ensuring that the tourism sector meets the needs of our nation’s economy, as well as promoting the tourism sector which has become a major economic support.
The bank has noted that it has sufficient capital and is committed to using its experts to see the operating system of the Tourism Sector through modern communication technology go faster and bring great hope especially in Zanzibar.


This was stated by NMB Senior Business and Government Manager Adelard Mang’ombo at the Annual General Meeting of Zanzibar Tourist Caravan Companies (ZATO) held in Zanzibar.
Adelard stated that NMB recognizes that Zanzibar’s economy is heavily dependent on tourism activities, where as the country’s largest bank is committed to ensuring that the economy continues to grow and bring development to the people.


“Our bank has a lot of capital, through this achievement, we see the need to connect with the Government and we are committed to that, to ensure we participate with in growing the country’s economy through the Tourism Sector,” said Mang’ombo.
For his part, the Head of Card Business Department NMB Bank – Philbert Casmir, said NMB intends to provide greater cooperation to the Revolutionary government of Zanzibar, to ensure it helps to collect revenue and build the economy.
He said the Bank believes that its ability to collect revenue related to the Tourism Sector, will significantly help collect revenue and lead to achieving the goal of the blue economy.


Regarding the blue economy, Casmir said that NMB Bank is committed to partnering with the government to realize its vision for the blue economy and has already begun practically launching a business platform that enables traders to make transactions through their websites (E-Commerce Platform).
He added that they have facilitated the use of UnionPay payment cards and are now accepting in transactions at NMB cash machines and NMB (POS) transaction machines (POS), with the aim of bringing better services to businesses in the Tourism Sector.
