Mining Minister Dotto Biteko has fired Chunya district Regulator of the mining market Paulo Gagala and suspended three staff members for questioning.
Biteko reached the point today in the region after discovering that the executives were involved in the smuggling of 15.4 grams of minerals worth Sh1.8 billion.
He has also ordered six licenses of gold miners’ buyers to be revoked, including ordering the Chunya district administration from today, December 14 to begin the registration of all gold mines and order 17 people to be detained, especially domestic miners.
