And the Acting Executive Secretary of the Kiswahili National Council (BAKITA) Ms. Consolata Mushi congratulated Ambassador Mengoni on completing his training as well as having many other responsibilities.

“Dear Guest of Honor, now diplomats have shown an interest in learning the Kiswahili language as so far the Italian Ambassador is the second to be awarded a certificate of Kiswahili language skills preceded by the Polish Ambassador to Tanzania Mr. Krzysztof Buzalski,” said Ms. Consolata.

For his part, the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Hon. Roberto Mengoni thanked BAKITA for enabling him to learn and understand Kiswahili as many Ambassadors use English and it is difficult for them to communicate as a large percentage of Tanzanians speak Kiswahili rather than English.
