Former President, H.E Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete to host Tanzania Beauty Legacy 2020 charity event on 12 December in Dar es salaam.

Proceeds to support creation of a hospital library for children and medical equipment for premature babies at Muhimbili National Hospital.

13 November 2020, Dar es salaam. Tanzania Beauty Legacy 2020, an initiative bringing together Tanzanian beauty queens to inspire young girls, women and raise funds to support health and education has announced date for a fundraising charity event to be held on 12 December 2020.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam, former Miss Tanzania 2000, entrepreneur and founder of Dr. Ntuyabaliwe Foundation, Ms. Jaqueline Mengi said she decided to bring together past winners and participants of the Miss Tanzania beauty pageant to raise funds for a worthy cause.
The event, which was originally slated for the 14 November, will now take place on 12 December 2020.
Jacqueline, who is also a trustee of the Dr. Reginald Mengi People with Disabilities Foundation said
“We are delighted to have former President Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete who has agreed to be Guest of Honor at the BEAUTY LEGACY GALA 2020 fundraising event. We remain thankful for his support for our cause slotted for December 12 this year. We also thank all contributors who are supporting this cause. Proceeds from the charity event will go towards creating a hospital library in order to keep children learning while undergoing treatment and providing life support equipment for babies born prematurely to increase capacity of medical services delivery at Muhimbili National Hospital.
About THE BEAUTY LEGACY GALA 2020
The BEAUTY LEGACY GALA 2020 is a high-end fundraising charity event and a night of celebration by Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe Mengi and former national Beauty pageant winners. This is a powerful event expected to attract a cross section of individuals and stakeholders from organizations, development partners and government to join hands in giving back to the community through supporting development of the education and health sectors.
The Charity theme titled Building hope, building lives, building futures aims at keeping children learning while undergoing treatment and providing life support equipment for babies born prematurely to increase capacity of medical services delivery at Muhimbili National Hospital.
Support of Muhimbili National Hospital also aims to save lives and improve quality, efficiency and affordability of patient care being the main centre that receives a high number of referral patients from other hospitals in the country.
Entertainment for the evening has been inspired by the life and times of 20-year history since Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe Mengi was crowned Miss Tanzania in 2000. Funds raised from the event will be directed towards children in the education and health sectors.
